Our founders were part of a small team of lay Catholics who started an independent elementary and middle school when our Diocese shut down nearly 40% of the existing Catholic Schools.

Rather than reproduce the uninspired modern curriculum present in so many of our schools, we decided to join the growing number of parents, teachers, and school administrators putting out into the deep to adopt a classical (i.e., traditional liberal arts) curriculum.

We were gratified to find several great resources to advise us regarding what a classical curriculum is, and how best to employ a classical curriculum in a school environment. We were frustrated, however, by how difficult it was to get our hands on the right books! While there are a number of start-up presses producing their own texts on a classical education, it seems like so many “classic” titles of good books and great books have either gone out of print or were prohibitively expensive to buy in bulk.

That’s why we started this site: to help schools, teachers, and parents to find the very best books, at the best quality for the price.
